It is fundamental to our core belief that education beyond the scholarship and academic excellence supports child development. Two of our students in year 7 have recently demonstrated success in their co-curricular achievements.
In July, during her vacation, Sophie won first prize in her classical ballet solo in an international ballet competition in Italy - DanzaFirenze 2018. She also participated in the World Ballet Competition Sao Paulo Open in October, and won a Special Mention and was selected to represent Brazil in the World Ballet Competition Finals in Orlando next April.
Dylan, on the other hand, represented the State of Sao Paulo and went on to win 3 gold medals in the Brazilian National Kungfu Championship. He has since been chosen as Outstanding Athlete for Year 2018 (Modern Wushu) by the Federação Paulista de Kungfu (for the State of Sao Paulo).
He also won a bronze medal for Brazil in the 12th Pan American Wushu Championship in Argentina.
We would like to congratulate the family on these fantastic individual achievements.
At BCB we believe in the holistic development of the whole child, their aspirations beyond the classroom give balance and demonstrate how important it is to maintain this harmony between academic and co-curricular achievements. Our ECA programme supports student pursuits in charity and service in the wider world, sport, arts, and a wide range of other activities.
