I am passionate about languages, as well as Latin American and Spanish culture - reason why I decided to be a Portuguese and Spanish teacher! I hold a Bachelor in Language and Literature (Portuguese and Spanish) and a Bachelor in Education from the University of São Paulo. In 2015 I have received a scholarship to study one semester at Autonomous University of Madrid and it was one of the best experiences of my life. I'm currently doing my postgraduate degree in Psychopedagogy at Mackenzie University.
I have been working for The British College of Brazil for nearly 4 years and I love the experience of working with an international community. Before working at BCB, I have worked as Spanish Coordinator at a NGO with refugees from Syria, Congo, Haiti, Colombia, Venezuela and Cuba. It was an amazing experience that enabled me to develop leadership skills and to discover the beauty of teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language - as I have taught refugees as a volunteer.
As well as being a Portuguese and Spanish teacher, I also have the privilege of supporting our students pastorally through my new role as Key Stage 3 Coordinator. I believe that balance is the key for success and that students must have time for leisure activities, practicing sports and discovering new skills in order to progress in their learning.
Outside of school life, I love to plan my next travel! I also love spending time with my friends, my family and my boyfriend, who lives in Colombia - reason why I spend most of my holidays in this beautiful country!
