Secondary PE Teacher

  • Physical Education teacher from Buckinghamshire, England
  • Have taught at all key stages, including GCSE and A level PE, for the past six years

I am a Physical Education teacher from Buckinghamshire, England. I have taught at all key stages, including GCSE and A level PE, for the past six years. I can’t wait to begin my journey into international teaching at a school with such a fantastic reputation.

I developed my love for teaching at the University of South Wales, Cardiff, studying sports coaching and performance. After university I spent time in developing countries as a volunteer, including leading a team on a health project in Zambia and delivering a rugby development programme in South African townships. Both placements helped me develop key leadership skills and inspired me to do a PGCE course at the University of Buckinghamshire to start teaching at Bedford Modern School.

During my time at BMS I developed a teaching philosophy that I believe fosters a lifelong commitment to physical activity. I believe that PE is so much more than just playing sport, it is a vehicle for developing emotional and social aspects of health, wellbeing and life skills, too.

I carry this belief into my personal life with a passion for outdoor activity, expedition and travel. I look forward to exploring the rich and diverse South American continent. Currently, I compete in touch and contact rugby and I enjoy, running, cycling and playing tennis to keep fit.

I am thoroughly looking forward to joining the BCB team and I hope to deliver a valuable physical education programme that caters for all students.
