Ms Erika Rodrigues de Maynart Ramos

Brazilian Social Studies teacher

Hello! My name is Érika Rodrigues de Maynart Ramos and I teach Humanities and Portuguese. I am totally passionate about Humanities and was 13 years old when I decided to be a History teacher. The amazement that ancient artefacts caused me when I was a child was strong enough to take me into a journey that naturally brought me to teaching. I hold a Bachelor in History from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, as well as a Bachelor in Education. In 2012, I was awarded a scholarship to study at the Nova University of Lisbon, in Portugal, for one semester, and this was the turning point that made me engage in historical research. In 2018, I obtained my Master's Degree in Social History also from the University of São Paulo.

I have been working at BCB for 4 years and throughout this time I had the pleasure of teaching all Humanities subjects and Portuguese. Prior to working at BCB, I taught both in public and private schools of São Paulo. I believe that inspiring young minds to marvel at knowledge is key to all positive changes they can dream for their lives and the World. I always encourage students to excel and trust their many abilities, overcoming all barriers. I love talking to students and listening to their ideas, as well as school life experiences, impressions and emotions.

My life outside school includes much reading, roller skating, and yoga. I also do some volunteer work for rescuing stray animals and forwarding them to new homes.
