NIS Jakarta, Nord Anglia Education’s first international school in Indonesia, held its second annual Christmas Fair on 9th of December 2017. Taking place on the school campus in South of Jakarta, the event was attended by over 800 people who came to celebrate the year-end holiday. As an effort to give back to the community, the event successfully raised proceeds of over Rp 30.000.000 (thirty million rupiah) which will go towards the NIS service learning projects supporting local charitable causes.
Filled with lots of children’s exciting activities such as a bouncy castle, meet Santa Claus, tombola and other fun games, the fair also hosted top-quality vendors who offered a range of attractive items for sale, giving the adult visitors an opportunity to complete their holiday shopping. The main highlight of the event was the NIS Raffle Draw with prizes including hotel vouchers, 43-inch LED TV, laptop, bicycle, gift vouchers and many more. The raffle prizes were sponsored by our generous partners for the event: Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Grasindo, HSBC and Howden Indonesia being the major sponsors, and also Bricks 4 Kidz, Central Capital Ventura, Engineering For Kids, Erasmus Training Centre, Etihad, Grand Kemang Hotel, International SOS, Lifenesia, Little Kickers, Philips, Standard Chartered and Zann Jewelry Design.
“The NIS Christmas Fair was even bigger this year than last, and I was delighted on the day that so many people joined us for the festivities,” commented the school’s Interim Principal, Karen Hanratty “I was overwhelmed by the generosity of our sponsors and also by the enthusiasm of all our visitors, enabling us to raise so much money to help others less fortunate than ourselves. Under Nord Anglia Education, NIS is a thriving, growing school and the success of this event shows how far the school has come in a few short months. With such strong backing and committed parents, the future is certainly very bright for NIS Jakarta.”
The annual NIS Christmas Fair will always aim to be bigger, brighter and more colorful than the previous years. It will also focus on providing the community with holiday excitement and the opportunity to contribute in charitable programs.
