Year 7A Teacher & Head of Spanish
Ms Garcia Verde has five years experience teaching Spanish in the UK. She has taught a variety of age groups, from Reception up to GCSE level. She joined us for the first time in August 2018.
Year 7B Teacher & Music Teacher
Mr Carr-Jones has been at BSY for one year, having previously taught for three years in London in both primary and secondary.
Year 8B Teacher & Spanish Teacher
Ms Fresquet del Castillo holds a Bachelor Degree in Music (Profile Flute) from the Havana National Institute of Music (ISA) and has taught the flute in Cuba. She also has experience with ELE and tutoring of IBDP Spanish Programmes in Thailand.
English Teacher - Secondary
Miss Johnson is joining BSY this year in 2020 as a secondary English teacher.
English Teacher & Librarian
Mrs Kearon-Wiles had four years teaching experience in Schools in Wales and China before moving to Yangon, where she has now been teaching for one year. Prior to teaching, Rebecca worked in the charity sector, specifically with charities that worked with schools in East Africa.
English Support and Special Educational Needs Teacher
Ms Townsend joined BSY in August 2017 as the Special Educational Needs and English as an Additional Language teacher for both primary and secondary students. Prior to this, she held the same position for three years at an international school in Doha, Qatar. Her previous fifteen years teaching experience was in England, predominantly at an independent preparatory boarding school, but also at an adult education college.
Head of STEM (Science)
MS Sugdon has 13 years of teaching experience, having previously taught in the UK, Egypt, Romania and Kazakhstan. She has held the position of faculty head for the last eight years and is excited about developing STEM at BSY.
