MET students, staff and parents are celebrating the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) results of the Class of 2022. For the 2021-2022 academic school year, the MET Class of 2022 achieved the international average pass rate of 89%. Our class average score was 31 points, meeting the world average.

Additionally, a very high proportion of our Senior class (79%) studied for and achieved the IBDP.  We are very proud to report that our highest scores were  a very impressive 43 and 42 points. 40 points is the level of attainment required to gain admission to the world’s elite universities, such as Cambridge, Oxford, Harvard, and Stanford.

We congratulate our Class of 2022 for their achievements. This is our 7th graduating class and the second largest in MET history. Once again, MET students displayed persistence, resilience and fortitude to navigate a full 2-year programme under the challenges of a global pandemic, scoring the global average.

We are also proud of the fact that the majority of MET students have access to their first choice university. Dr. Mark Starbuck, Head of School said, “I am delighted that, once again, MET students have performed so well in these examinations. Achieving scores of 42 and 43 plus an incredible 37 students receiving a bilingual diploma - 68% of the cohort - is an exceptional achievement! We are equally proud of all our students, particularly those who may have struggled but worked exceptionally hard for two years to gain the DP. Having students score 42 and 43 points, shows that the most highly academic students are at home at the MET.”

We would also like to commend our teachers for their outstanding work. Their commitment to our students and school is what drives these excellent academic results.

Many congratulations to the MET Class of 2022!

World's Best Teachers

We also give credit to our dedicated, caring and engaged high school teachers. Grade 11 and Grade 12 students all benefit from the specialised training of IBDP teachers who have all completed IBO professional development, gaining in-depth knowledge of programme content and assessment requirements.

About the IB Diploma

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) is a two-year pre-university course for students aged 16-18. It is one of the most highly regarded qualifications, offering students access to some of the world’s leading universities both within Switzerland and beyond. This academically rigorous programme favors an international approach so that students are educated to become responsible global citizens with the theoretical and practical knowledge to thrive in whichever career path they choose.

Nord Anglia is one of the world’s largest providers of the IB Diploma Programme, with over 1,600 students sitting the IB Diploma and 42 of its 77 schools offering the programme.

The average IB diploma score for Nord Anglia students was 35.1 for the 2021/2022 academic year, far exceeding the global average of 31.9. For the ninth year running, Nord Anglia’s students have exceeded the global average.

This year, 23.2% of our amazing Nord Anglia students achieved 40+ points and a third (33%) of Nord Anglia schools offering the IBDP saw students achieve a perfect score of 45 out of 45.

Congratulations to all NAE graduates and IBDP achievers!
