IB Learner Profile: Primary

The Primary Years Program (PYP) combines the best research and practice from a range of national and international models. It provides children with a relevant and engaging curriculum framework that is used in all PYP schools around the world, no matter in which country the school is located.

The aim of all IB programs is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world. MET learners accomplish this by demonstrating the IB Learner Profile, 10 attributes valued by world schools through which individuals can become responsible members of local, national and global communities.

As IB Learners, MET students strive to be:

  • Inquirers
  • Knowledgeable
  • Thinkers
  • Communicators
  • Principled
  • Open-Minded
  • Caring
  • Risk-Takers
  • Balanced
  • Reflective

Benefits to Our School Community

The development of explicit attitudes and the expectation of socially responsible behavior is an essential element of the program. The attitudes we focus on are: appreciation, commitment, confidence, cooperation, creativity, curiosity, empathy, enthusiasm, independence, integrity, respect and tolerance.

PYP students:

  • Develop a deeper personal commitment to action and service
  • Have a higher sense of fairness and justice
  • Respect the views, values, and traditions of other individuals and cultures
