After the excitement of having a very large group of visitors in the school last week, we have had a more ‘normal’ week in the BVIS Primary school this week:
Sports matches
A regular occurrence throughout the school year is the opportunity for our sports squads to compete against teams from other international schools across the city. Currently the Primary basketball and badminton teams are competing, with matches against ABCIS this week.
BIS and BVIS schools working together
All the year round we have visitors in school and this week teachers met to discuss school developments in our BIS and BVIS schools. We welcomed the Vietnamese literacy coordinator from BVIS Hanoi and the science coordinators from the BIS HCMC campuses to work collaboratively with our coordinators.

Assembly
Twice a term our weekly assembly takes the form of singing practice. This is to provide the children with some extra music time and also allows us to build a repertoire of songs for special occasions and to reinforce assembly themes.
Special events
Our calendar includes many special events and learning opportunities from August through to June. This week the Early Years classes celebrated “Nursery Rhyme Week” by learning different rhymes in English and Vietnamese throughout the week and then by singing to our sister BIS schools on Friday via skype!

Next week:
Over the next two weeks there will be parents’ evenings for you to meet individually with your child’s class teachers.

Information about how to make appointments was sent by email to you earlier this week so we look forward to welcoming the parents of the ‘B’ and ‘I’ classes into school on Tuesday and Thursday evening next week (17.11.15 and 19.11.15).
