Last weekend Year 12 travelled to the Sandhills resort in Mui Ne for 2 days of team building and leadership. The focus of the weekend is on giving students the opportunity to discover the science of leadership and to show them some simple tips on being a better leader. At the same time exploring what it is to work in a team.
Lots of opportunities were given for the students to show practical leadership skills in the general organisation of the weekend and on specially designed tasks that challenged the students in a wide variety of ways.
The weekend is a yearly event for year 12 and includes leadership and team working instruction, a trek up to the reclining Buddha on Takou Mountain. As part of our leadership development programme the students also get training in the principles of instruction and are expected to lead training sessions in term 2.
