FOBISIA student leader conference at BIS

25 September 2015

Last weekend I went to the FOBISIA Student  Leadership Conference at BIS with Annie, Anna and Ivy. Throughout the two days conference we were given lectures and workshops based on this year’s topic, which is   ‘Ethical Leader’.

On day one, after a warm welcome from BIS and a speed dating activity to know each other, we moved on to a series of lectures started by talking about the challenge of leaders in making ethical decisions. This was followed up by Clive Leach’s talk about Positive Leadership, which was very enriching. The highlight lecture of the day must go to Mr.D.Gamwell, however, who enlightene us on the dangers of poor  leadership and how it can affect the organisation’s targets.

On the second day of the conference there was more time for us to discuss and share current practice of different school leadership model; this activity was particularly good because we actually got to learn about other schools.

The conference was absolutely astonishing and we have learnt a lot more about ethical leaders and how to become one.

We would like to thank the BIS team for hosting such a great event, and BVIS for giving us a chance to be there.
