And so we’ve reached the last week of a long and eventful half term. We stayed busy, of course, right up until the very end.
The year 12s came back from an exhausting but enjoyable residential in Mui Ne, learning about leadership and teamwork. We look forward to the new prefects being inducted very shortly. Our thanks to Mr Lowry and the other staff who accompanied the students.
On Wednesday we welcomed esteemed Vietnamese author Phan Hon Nhien to school. She spoke with year 8 and 9 students about her writing and they had an opportunity to ask her questions, as well as purchase signed copied of her books. It’s such a great experience for our young people to be able to meet and interact with role models such as Ms Nhien.
On Thursday, we welcomed Mr Paul Murphy from Juilliard who was looking at how we have managed to implement the programme thus far at BVIS. He got to witness another wonderful Live Lunch as well, which is always a fantastic showcase for musical and singing ability in the school, and once again didn’t disappoint.
Finally, you will have received your child’s first grade report today. You will hopefully be pleased with the progress they are making, but please remember that we are just eight weeks into the school year, and all students are working towards their end of year, IGCSE or A level targets.
Have a fabulous half term break, and if you are going away anywhere then safe travels to you.
Pham Bao Ngoc (Lucy), 11B – great English assessment and work generally in recent weeks.
