Lunchtime Trial of Healthier Options

01 April 2016

We are sure that you recall the success of the snack time trial in the Primary School which was carried out earlier this school year by the Student Council. We are now looking to improve lunch times too, with the introduction of healthier meal options for Primary and Secondary students. These will be introduced following the holiday.luhch

These meals have been developed by Black Cat, our caterers. This improvement is in response from feedback from the children and staff. The new menu options will be provided every day from now until the end of term three, when we will evaluate their success. They include new vegetarian options, the introduction of lentils, pulses and grains, along with the reduction in breaded, battered and fried items.

These new dishes are all low in added sugar, salt and fat and follow guidelines established in UK schools. Please see the link below for menus

At lunchtimes, the Primary and Secondary Student Councils will canvas opinions from the children and staff, to later evaluate their feedback.

We look forward to reporting on the success of the trial towards the end of term three. However, should you have any questions, queries or feedback from your child, please do not hesitate to contact us. We would love to hear your thoughts about the changes. Please email:
