It was with immense pride that I stood in front of our Class of 2016 on Saturday at their graduation ceremony. With a moving bilingual speech from founder of BVIS, Maurice Nguyen, a wonderful performance by the secondary choir, and two excellent speeches by four of the graduates, it was an event to remember.
All 28 of our graduates are now going on to study at some of the most prestigious universities in the world, and we wish them all the luck in the world as they await the outcome of their A level examinations and then set foot upon the next part of life’s journey.
Examinations are coming thick and fast still, and the week after next is Exams Week for all students in years 7-10. This is not a time for students or parents to become overly stressed, however. For key stage three, tests will take place in classrooms during normal lesson time; year 10 tests will be in the gym to give them practise of IGCSE exam procedures.
The results of these will then be published in your child’s end of year reports, but please rest assured that they do not impact on whether or not your child moves up to the next year group. We are most interested in a student’s progress and effort; as long as they are working hard and showing improvement, we are happy, and you should be proud. All too soon they will be on the stage receiving their own graduation certificates!
Have a lovely weekend.
