Moon Festival Celebrations 2016

On Thursday we celebrated the Moon Festival in school. Thank you very much to all the parents who attended the celebrations.

The day began cloudy but dry - we were very relieved after all the heavy rain of the previous few days! First of all a modern dragon dance took place on the school field for all the children. To vary the experience from year to year, this time the performers included glittery streamers and bubbles. The children loved the enormous bubbles which floated above the field!

Even though the children have only completed 15 days in school so far this term, all the Year 1 and Year 3 children, along with some Secondary students, then did their very best to perform in the main hall in front of a large audience of parents, students and teachers. With song, dance and drama they retold the traditional story which explains why there is a rabbit on the moon.

It was great to see such confidence in our young children and the collaboration between Primary and Secondary students in this performance.
