One Day, One Choir at BVIS

23 September 2016

On Wednesday, students from years 5 to 11 took part in a very special assembly to observe International Peace Day. Along with many other Nord Anglia schools across the world, BVIS took part in the global choral initiative, One Day, One Choir, and the students sang beautifully.

In their music lessons over the past three weeks, students have been learning Paul McCartney’s

Pipes of Peace

, as chosen by Mr Fergus. The music and the lyrics seemed befitting of the occasion. Students were asked to reflect on the meaning of the song in the context of International Peace Day and they filled in postcards stating what peace meant to them, to BVIS as a school and to the wider world.

The music department would like to thank all students who took part and made the morning such a memorable one.
