This week in the Primary School
“I love the teachers, education and joy BVIS brings me.” (BQ 4I)
I love BVIS because I can learn new things in this great school. (Khuong 6I)
This week we have been reflecting on how fortunate we all are to belong to the BVIS community. The Primary School foyer has been beautifully decorated with blue and white balloons and hearts as part of our “feel good” week.
Many of our families and members of staff have had fun taking part in the various Love BVIS photo competitions and there was a real buzz in school during the voting sessions. Thank you to everyone who spent time creating photographs with an “oooh” or aaah” factor! Congratulations to the competition winners who were announced in assembly on Friday.
The children shared their reasons why they love their school on blue or white hearts and these have been displayed in school as part of our special week. Here are just a few things our children said about BVIS:
I love BVIS because I love food here. (Su Su 1V)
I love BVIS because I love swimming. (Khoi F2B)
I love BVIS because I can speak two languages. (Le Tri 3B)
I love BVIS because it is an amazing school with great teachers and friends. (Anh Kiet 4V)
I love BVIS because here I can make friends with a lot of people from around the world! (Gia Linh 5S)
I love BVIS because I love reading books. (Yen Chi F1B)
I love BVIS because I have lots of friends. (Pepsi 2B)
I love BVIS because the facility of the school is excellent, and the environment is fresh, clean and safe. (Huy 6B)
An Duy likes the snacks (An Duy F3V)
Teachers’ Day is another special time at BVIS and we are very grateful to all our families for their thoughts and thanks. I know how much our teaching assistants and teachers appreciate the tokens of thanks given at this time.
The children, led by Primary Student Council, did a fantastic job of saying thank you in assembly on Friday. Mr Fergus had helped them to prepare a special song which the whole school sang with great enthusiasm and feeling. Every teaching assistant and teacher also received a handmade scroll with thoughtful sentiments shared on it. There were the humorous ‘Teacher Awards’ too which made everyone laugh. Thank you to Ms Tram for her work with Student Council to prepare the assembly.
Finally, some children from Pham Hung school, one of our community link schools, came to perform, thanking us for all the support we have given them through various community projects and to share in this Vietnamese celebration of Teachers’ Day.
