This week in the Primary School
There were several festive events this week in the Primary School to bring our first term to a close and to celebrate Christmas. Thank you to all our BVIS families for your ongoing support and interest in the school and I wish you a very happy break from school routines.
On Wednesday, our youngest children took to the stage to entertain their families with some Christmas songs. They looked very festive wearing their bells, elves, snowflakes and Santa headdresses. It was a lovely afternoon and I’m sure family members felt very proud of their F1, F2 and F3 children.
Christmas lunch and Christmas parties
Also on Wednesday, the whole school enjoyed special Christmas food at lunchtime with some extra personnel assisting our kitchen staff with the serving of the food!
On Thursday, Santa made an appearance in the Primary School during the children’s Christmas parties! There were games, dancing and party food to be enjoyed too.
The week ended with the annual BVIS pantomime. All the western teachers in the Primary School participated in the music and drama to tell the well-known story of “Aladdin”. Every traditional element of a pantomime was present: the “baddy”; the handsome prince(s); the clever princess; the hero; songs; audience participation; terrible jokes and, of course, the happy conclusion when everyone lives happily ever after. The children loved seeing their teachers dressed up and performing this little slice of British tradition at Christmas time.
