Secondary Update – Mr Simon Graves – 17/03/2017

17 March 2017

  • Untitled design (43)

This has been one of those weeks that I came into teaching for, and when I have once again been so proud of the efforts and talents of our staff and student body.

On Tuesday, we opened our Have a Heart Exhibition with a wonderful display of over 1000 pieces of art from Early Years to Year 13. Cutting the ribbon for the exhibition was Mr Tran Huu Tam, Vice President of the Sponsoring Association for Poor Patients whom we are supporting. We are already well on the way to achieving our target of 100,000,000 VND, but you can help through your donations and  also by making an offer for some of the amazing artwork on display.

On Tuesday our Tanzania Team also returned from what by all accounts was an epic journey. We are so grateful to Mr Reid and Ms Claydon for leading the expedition, and we’re looking forward to some exciting assemblies and projects as a result. See some incredible photos here.

And then of course The Wizard of Oz. Each year our secondary production gets bigger and better and Mr Williams and his team put on a simply amazing musical performance, showcasing some brilliant comic acting, fabulous sets and quite breath-taking singing.Read a review of the first night here.

We have also sent an Under 13s team off to the FOBISIA Games in Thailand this week, and can’t wait to see photos next week and see how they got on.

And to finish a wonderful week, this weekend a number of our students are attending a Model United Nations Conference at BIS. With the work we have been undertaking as a school on the Global Goals, this is an ideal opportunity for our students to further develop their debating skills and global knowledge.

Finally, a reminder that ECAs finish this week so no clubs next week. Please ensure your child is picked up form school no later than 3.15 unless they are in an after school revision class or sports match.

Have a lovely weekend.
