I trust that you all had a good spring break with your families. We have many new families joining us this term and I would like to extend a very warm welcome to the BVIS community. BVIS continues to become more and more popular and more families are now sending their children here to experience the fantastic bilingual curriculum in Primary, and the world renowned International GCSE and A level at Secondary level.
It is at this time of year that our Year 13 students start to receive their offers from colleges and universities around the world. I am delighted to say that already we have seen some fantastic offers come to students here at BVIS for attendance at some of the top universities around the world including US and UK. Some of our graduates will have a very difficult choice ahead in selecting their preferred option. Well done everyone.
Being part of the family of Nord Anglia Education schools, means of course that our students have access to the Juilliard music programme. All student from Year 1 to Year 9 have access to the programme and our designated Juilliard keyboard suites. On Thursday we were delighted to welcome Nicole Jeong an international violinist organised by Juilliard to visit our school and inspire our students. She wowed staff and students with her skill and performance and we were delighted to have such a talented musician visit our children.
As you know, we constantly look at ways to improve our facilities so that our children get the very best experience whilst here. I hope many primary parents have seen the new surface in the playground it looks great. We have almost completed work on a black box drama theatre on the third floor. This will enable our drama students to perform their work in a very professional and stimulating environment. Our children love performing and this additional facility will enhance the performance potential for all. In 2018 we will be launching our Juilliard drama programme to complement our already successful Julliard music programme.
I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
