On Monday we welcomed our Year 6 students to the Secondary School so they could experience what life will be like for them next year. Our Year 6s enjoyed a number of different lessons, from Science to English, Humanities to Maths. The lessons were delivered expertly by our Secondary staff and supported superbly by a group of Year 9 buddies. The Year 6 students were an energetic bunch, full of enthusiasm, and we very much look forward to welcoming them to BVIS Secondary in August.

At the end of the day it was the adults’ turn as a large number of our Year 6 parents attended our transition meeting. They were treated to a Drama taster lesson, delivered by Ms Claydon and some of our current Year 7 students. Afterwards, Mr Graves and I fielded questions to help our families understand what to expect in BVIS Secondary.

Overall this was an exciting and worthwhile day, which has shown our Year 6s are definitely ready for the step up to Secondary.
