This week in the Primary School

International Day of Peace

At BVIS we help our children to develop as Global Citizens. We are reminded about this every day as we look at our school’s mission statement and its key words.

This week in our Primary assembly we focused on the International Day of Peace. Class 4V led our assembly explaining to us why there is a special day to think about “peace” every year.

We also sang our special peace day song accompanied by the teachers’ band and recorded it to share with schools all around the world for the “One Day One Choir” initiative. Our children sang passionately, helping us all to reflect on the importance of the words we were singing. I was extremely proud of them!

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21st September. The United Nations General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.
