Mr. Paul Holyome Weekly Update - 11/05/2018

11 May 2018

Dear Parents

As you know we have started to engage in a very significant collaboration with MIT, one of the top universities in the world. Last week four of our students had the privilege of representing BVIS at MIT. They travelled with a member of staff to America to begin our collaboration work. They had a fantastic time and engaged in a full week of activities and information sharing. They were an absolute credit to the school. We are now looking forward to launching further MIT collaboration work across the school in the coming year. We will also be sending two members of teaching staff to MIT in June to gain a better understanding of MIT and to bring back innovative ideas and resources for our students in this important area of the curriculum.

This week we also started our preparations for the Tanzania trip next year. Again, a large number of KS4 students have applied to go and we are certain that they will have a life changing experience. This will certainly become an annual feature of the school trips calendar and over time there will be many students who will have the opportunity to embark on this adventure.

Finally, just a reminder that next Thursday we are hosting a parent seminar ‘IGCSE and International A Level in preparation for university’. I hope many of you will take the opportunity to attend this useful information session for parents.

I wish you all a very relaxing weekend.
