This week in the Primary School
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)
As a Nord Anglia school, BVIS collaborates with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). This is a new and exciting benefit for our school and recently one of our Primary teachers, Ms Khuyen, accompanied four students to MIT for a week of learning.
Below you will find links to some videos from their trip to MIT showing the range of different learning opportunities facilitated through this collaboration with the university.
Next month, we are sending two more BVIS teachers to MIT for training so that we can start to build STEAM learning into our curriculum next academic year to benefit the whole school, not just the lucky few who competed to win places on the recent trip.
Kha Vy and Cindy (Year 6) rated their experience at MIT as 10/10 and 11/10 respectively! They felt they gained a great deal of confidence during their visit. We are very proud of their high level of achievement during the various tasks at MIT and Ms Khuyen witnessed how BVIS students are able to be both team players and team leaders.
We are looking forward to adapting our curriculum at BVIS to include greater learning opportunities for real life problem solving and first-hand experiences. We are also planning new facilities to support this style of learning.
