It’s normal for parents and students to feel a bit nervous on their very first day at school. Lots of questions were raised in their mind, “Who are the new teachers?”, “What are my new friends like?”, “What does the new classroom look like?”. The most common question for parents would be” Will my children be ready for their new environment and a new school year to come?”

At BVIS HCMC, our Orientation Day has been an important milestone, in which we made every effort to make it a memorable and welcoming experience for our new community members so they could quickly settle and thrive within a new environment.
Taking place on Tuesday 20th August 2019, the event has seen a participation of over 300 parents and students. The Orientation Day started with a speech from Mr Simon Higham – BVIS Principal, who highlighted the importance of parents and school, working in partnership to best support a child’s education.

Children then were split into different groups and followed their teachers to classrooms to get to know their new friends and experiencing some exciting 'ice breakers’. This helps to form immediate and long-lasting friendships between our new children.
On entry from this successful orientation event, many parents were quick to thank our BVIS team for creating such a joyful moment for families and children.
