This week’s assembly was taken mostly by Mr. Brown, Head of Dalat House. He spoke about another aspect of Aide Memoire – Enquiry – and how enquiry-based learning is fundamental to progress beyond expectations.
The weekly Secondary News was then given by Mr. Shooter who announced this week’s winner of the BVIS Virtual School Weekly Champion award. Congratulations to BUI, Pham Kim Ngan (Sally) in 11B on being this week’s winner and working beyond expectations – a fantastic effort.
Mr. Shooter also announced the winner of the House Challenge – ‘Around the World’. The students were tasked with recreating a famous landmark or city using objects around the home. There were some fantastic entries (even Mr Brown entered!) but the winner was TRAN, Gia My (Rose) in 7S for making multiple entries from around the world – well done Rose!
Ms Hardiman introduced the new House Bingo Challenge where various Housepoints are awarded for completing certain numbers of simple tasks at home. Ms Hardiman also shared with us the good news that Ms Naomi Skinner from the NamRunsNam project that BVIS has been supporting has been appearing on NetViet TV Channel talking about all of the work she has been doing.
To inspire the students to earn more Housepoints, Mr. Shoesmith then introduced a new initiative from our Student Council – the ‘punish or reward’ which all the students seemed excited about!
