In this first term, Year 4 I have been learning about the theme of Adventurers and Explorers.
Everest is one of the places that attracts numbers of adventurers wishing to conquer. Year 4 students have learnt about the world’s highest mountain and the difficulty of actually conquering it. They have recently had a meeting with Mr. Phan Thanh Nhien - the youngest Vietnamese to conquer Mount Everest which of course has been a memorable highlight for our children.
At the time when Mr. Thanh Nhien conquered Everest, he was one of the three youngest people in Vietnam to do so. In addition to the knowledge of the challenging journey and the deep understanding of Mount Everest that he shared with Year 4 students, Mr. Nhien is also a great example of perseverance and willpower for our BVIS students to learn and follow.
In the meeting, students had an opportunity to observe the mind-blowing story sharing, at the same time, their curious questions were also enthusiastically answered by Mr. Nhien. Thank you to Mr Nhien for inspiring the next generation of mountaineers from BVIS!
