Community Service

Working with local communities is an important part of a well-rounded education at British Vietnamese International School. Students are able develop insights and knowledge of local and global issues by building social awareness and contributing to volunteer projects.

The community service program of BVIS includes projects across all year groups from Primary to Secondary, ensuring that the whole school commits to improving the communities and the world that they live in.

Through planned community service and fundraising activities, the school assists students to develop a respectful and caring sense of social responsibility towards the environment and other people.

These projects are monitored by our community coordinators who support the students and staff from the idea stage to executing the project. Most of our projects are designed to allow the children to directly participate in community improvement activities, providing meaningful service and enriching the learning experience for them

Students are encouraged to come up with their own creative solutions to problems and to take ownership of community development projects. Community coordinators, teachers and staff support the students to ensure the projects they want to contribute to are effective.

By thinking by themselves, choosing methods by themselves and executing their own plans they shall be proud of what they have done to improve the communities. We aim to inspire students through what they achieve and accept the challenges of the modern world through  interesting practical projects.
