Since completing a Post Graduate Certificate in Education from Leeds University, Frances has taught in a variety of schools in London and Singapore, before joining La Côte International School in 2019.
Her career has given her experience of teaching in a variety of settings. In London, Frances worked in a culturally diverse school in central London, teaching children across both Key Stage 1 and 2. Taking on a specialist Performing Arts role in a Reggio Emilia inspired school in Singapore, she was responsible for establishing a creative and nurturing environment to support the learning of children from 2-6 years old. Through her IB training at another major international school in Singapore, Frances developed a love for inquiry and concept-based learning.
She strongly believes in education that gives children a sense of autonomy over their learning, inspires students to be life-long learners who develop not only academically, but also with confidence and passion. In her classroom the children’s social and emotional well–being is the foundation upon which they build meaningful learning. They are encouraged to work collaboratively, support each other in their learning and empathise with the needs of others.
Frances moved to Switzerland last year with her 2 young daughters and husband. Originally from Wales, she has always had a love of the outdoors and takes any opportunity to hike, kayak, ski or rock climb here in Switzerland. She is a certified scuba diver, dancer and theatre enthusiast.
