The Upper Primary ISM Cup took place on Friday 14th September, in which ISM were represented by two girls teams and four boys teams. A total of twelve teams participated in our biggest tournament to date. Teams included: Deutsche Schule of Moskau, Cambridge International School and Brookes Moscow International School.
After three rounds of competition, the third and fourth playoff match took place between DSM and Brookes. After a ‘Sudden Death’ penalty shootout, DSM came third in the tournament. In the final, the ISM Lions competed against CIS. The game was very close with both teams having lots of shots on goal. Once again, this game went to a ‘Sudden Death’ penalty shoot out, with CIS emerging victorious. Although this was not the result that the ISM Lions would have liked, the team represented the school with great pride.
Conversely, in the girls tournament, the ISM Lionesses were crowned the first ever female ISM Cup Winners. All of the girls should be proud to have participated in this historical event. We look forward to having more girls teams enter the tournament again next year, making it an even bigger event.
