Tuesday December 17th saw another wonderful Home Learning Exhibition at ISM Rosinka.

Home Learning Exhibitions have positively moved forwards our students’ learning, incorporating new elements every year. Children have a choice of activities to complete in each half term. These activities incorporate: Writing and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) activities. Students get to choose from a selection of these activities. Additional competitions, such as ‘Scientist of the Month’ and COBIS and Global Campus activities give the Home Learning Sheet an international feel and encourage the children to think about our wider community.

A selection of activities included: Year One children continuing their learning about celebrations by creating beautiful Diwali lamps. Year Two students creating dioramas showing different seasons. Year Three  students creating their own mazes using paper plates and magnets to move their characters. Year Four students creating 3D models of a Roman city while Year Five students designed rockets capable of carrying humans to Mars. Year Six exercised their movie-making skills by creating a video explaining a volcanic eruption, whilst  ensuring that scientific language was used.

Children have been coming to school with a real spring in their step and pride in their eyes because of the wonderful range of home learning that has been created. These activities are seen as a way to reflect their learning in class, encourage independence, promote STEAM and enrich academic conversations at home.

The exhibition on the 17th of December showcased some of the best work we have ever seen at ISM Rosinka. Each class visited the exhibition over the course of the school day. Thank you very much to all the parents also came to view the work. Well done to all the children who contributed to this fantastic Home Learning Exhibition.
