Over 80 ISM students celebrated the end of the first term in the company of a large audience at St Andrew’s Church, bringing to a close a very successful musical term, with lots of festive cheer.
With music from traditional carols to orchestral favourites from British Composer Vaughan Williams and Russian composer Rimsky-Korsakov, the standard of instrument-playing, directed by Dr Paul Tkachenko and supported by our fantastic instrumental staff continues to grow.
Vocal music is highly regarded at ISM and participation in students choirs has been extremely high this term. The Upper Primary choir, directed by Ms Michelle Whelan was the largest ensemble in the concert and clear evidence of our students love for singing and the exciting programme of music clubs and activities on offer at lunchtimes.
Highlights of the concert were ISM’s two fantastic A level Students Maksim Taptygin and Linh Nguyen delivering a performance of ‘Barcelona’ and the wonderfully peaceful guitar ensemble, led by Mr Vadim Kvyatkovsky.
