On Monday the 10th February, Rosinka hosted our annual tennis tournament.
This year we invited Brookes Moscow giving our students some extra competition alongside our own Krylatskoe and Rosinka campuses. Each school selected 4 students from Years 3 to 6, which culminated in a fiercely competitive tournament.
The games took place on small courts, in turn challenging each individual to focus on their precision and power, whilst working hard to out-wit their opponent.
The standard was exceptional in all year groups with players having to grind out every point to claw their way to the final. We witnessed a masterful showdown between Philip and Elisey that went right down to the wire. It was great to see true sportsmanship from all of the players, working together, so that everyone could enjoy their matches.
Players took on responsibilities, both on and off the court, gaining experience in umpiring each game and filling out each court’s results. The finalists earnt their position by coming out on top after a grueling encounter against all 5 other competitors in a round-robin format, with only the top scorer going through to the final. We even had 6 previous finalists competing from last year, including 3 champions vying to retain their crown.
It was an excellent event enjoyed by many students, parents and teachers. We can’t wait for next year!
