As uncertainty develops across the world, here at ISM one thing is for certain: our whole community is pulling together, and our teachers are working flat out to provide the highest standards of learning possible through our Virtual School programme.

Monday to Friday mornings are full of exciting activities and challenges for students to complete. Children focus on Maths, English and Phonics in the morning, before enjoying Physical Education workouts every day at 15:00 (PE at Three). Maths, English and Phonics provide the spine of our curriculum, which is why we have placed more emphasis on these subjects.

Our teachers continue to provide unique and creative ways to challenge and motivate students at home. Mr Keach and Mr Charlton have also been very busy creating audio stories for students to listen to with their families.

In addition to all the fabulous work being done every day, we also have quality home learning projects being provided by Music, MFL and PE. Teachers and Assistant Teachers are holding individual meetings with pupils on a regular basis, as the school is dedicated not only to children’s academic achievement, but also to their overall wellbeing. We are committed to delivering a sense of ‘normality’ for all students.

We have been overwhelmed by the level of support from families, and we are delighted to report that we have engagement levels of over 90% from all of our families across the ISM community. The kind of structure and high-level learning that staff and parents are contributing towards is essential for the progress and emotional wellbeing of the pupils at our school.

Everybody, from ISM pupils and their families to staff, deserves huge congratulations on a wonderfully successful two weeks of Virtual School as we navigate the current situation.
