“The greatest moments in life are not concerned with selfish achievements, but rather with the things we do with the people we love.” (Walt Disney)
While Virtual School at ISM has been a huge success, with many exciting Maths and English activities as well as an array of excellent PE, Music, Russian and French videos being shared, we wanted to do something a little different. In terms of school events, May and June are normally the busiest months of the year, with many events where parents have the option to take part. On Friday 5th June, Family Fun Day 2020 was meant to take place, so, in place of this, we decided to create the Virtual School Family Games.
The aim of this event was to take part in fun and exciting activities as a family, and also to bring our community a little closer together through our shared blog. Each family was able to see all the videos posted and could share comments with each other.
Over the final four weeks of the academic year, we shared three different challenges each week. The activities have included cooking, movie making, dancing, singing, sports, music, and a very popular challenge where families had to recreate a famous painting. I have completed many of the challenges with my own family and it has been extremely rewarding.
On Friday 29th May, I declared the Virtual School Family Games open and it has been a wonderful four weeks. Over 40 families and 15 teachers signed up and the Games were a huge success, with some outstanding videos being shared. A huge thank you to all the teachers, parents and students for making this a very enjoyable end to the school year.
I now declare the Virtual School Family Games 2020 officially closed.
