ROAR RADIO IS TWO YEARS OLD!

On Tuesday 26th May 2020, in the midst of the global coronavirus pandemic, a new radio station was born. Students and teachers at the International School of Moscow had been muting the launch of a school-wide radio station in previous academic years with a Radio Club and podcasting taking place as an ASA as far back as 2013. However, with the improvement in video conferencing and audio streaming over the past 10 years, broadcasting a live stream has become much easier than it ever has been in the past.

The catalyst for going live that Tuesday morning in 2020 was the pandemic where sadly, students and staff were detached from real connections of physically being in school or even in the same country as their peers. Mr Storey approached me to enquire if it was possible to bring the whole school community together in the mornings by launching ROAR. Being very keen on Music and Audio technology and a former Student Radio host at the University of London, I jumped at the opportunity.
