With the return of Swimming to Physical Education curriculum, it has been exciting to see all students from Reception to Year Six taking part in regular swimming lessons this term.
By integrating Swimming back into the curriculum, we have not only given students the opportunity to swim, but also challenge themselves regularly and become more independent as a swimmer and student. The swimming lessons vary from year group to year group, with focuses ranging from learning to swim, competition swimming and in our year six lessons, life-saving and water survival.
With the hope of rebuilding a swimming culture at ISM Rosinka, our lessons will span throughout the year to the end of Term Two. During this time, will also be running regular swimming competitions against the other campuses to help students set goals and continue to promote swimming within the school.
With a swimming competition right around the corner, I’m happy to say we have been very successful in our participation sign up; however, I hope as we continue to rebuild the culture of swimming at Rosinka campus we will see an increase in student participation and parent spectators at the swimming events.
I would like to thank you all for your continued support and look forward to seeing you at our many sporting events this academic year.

The summer holidays are often seen as a chance for children to relax and take a break from learning. However, children’s brain development means that the the learning never stops or even slows down. Outside of the classroom their minds remain as open as ever to exploring the world around them, using their imagination and discovering new things. With this in mind, parents might begin to appreciate the incredible opportunities that the summer brings.
