BSY Sponsors Prestigious HR Awards night

The British School Yangon were proud to be platinum sponsors of the prestigious Myanmar Employer Awards. On Saturday 7 th December a group of staff from BSY joined over 500 guests for a glittering gala dinner and awards ceremony at the Yangon Novotel. Local and national press, politicians and other high profile speakers gathered together to celebrate and reward the best business HR practice in both local and overseas companies based in Myanmar.

We were delighted to see a number of BSY families in attendance and scooping up awards; notable congratulations to Mrs. Sy, who was awarded best HR Director and whose company, Unilever, won the top prize on the night.

BSY Principal, Mrs Del Federico, spoke to the audience about how a great education lies at the foundation of successful careers and how the best education enables young men and women to move through the world with kindness, courage and integrity and become skilled communicators, leaders and decision makers. Other speakers reflected on the importance of great training and the wider context of business development and growth in Myanmar.

We will be meeting a number of the companies in attendance over the coming months to look at potential links we can build so as to provide more opportunities for our students and their staff.
