About
Katherine is joining BSY as a Year 5 teacher in January 2021. She has 11 years of primary teaching experience and has been teaching overseas for the past 8 years. She has spent the last 5 years in Uganda where she mainly taught in KS2, and was in Dubai for 3 years prior to that where she taught Year 2. Before completing her primary training, she spent 5 years teaching English as a Foreign Language (EFL).
Katherine is internationally-minded and believes in equipping her students with 21 st century skills to help them to become successful global citizens. In addition, she enjoys taking a cross-curricular approach, providing a context for learning which is meaningful for her students.
Katherine loves travelling and has particularly appreciated the wonderful travel experiences she has had in Africa over the past 5 years. She also enjoys reading, singing and hiking and is trying to improve her cooking skills!
