NAIS Pudong Scholarships
Last week we embraced our status as a wide and varied international school as we celebrated all of the nationalities in International Week! Amongst a huge variety of different activities each day, we saw students and staff taking part in cultural dances, puzzles and games, quizzes, and many more activities.
The canteen staff also embraced the chefs’ skills as they provide themed lunches across each day of the week, including Peruvian, Italian and Spanish options.
Across the school, there were cultural tables created which showcased facts and interesting information about different countries, with some students taking part in challenges to learn as many new facts as possible.
Both Primary and Secondary assemblies carried the international theme. The youngsters from the Early Years serenaded us with a charming language song, greeting us in various languages. Following that, students from different year groups in the primary department presented the distinctive songs and dances of some respective countries. Finally, representatives from each year shared the intriguing knowledge they acquired during International Week. It was a truly enriching experience for all!
The secondary students treated us to an exhilarating Flamenco dance, captivating drama performances infused with the histories and cultures of various nations, and culminated the festivities with an exciting International Week Exam. Truly a thrilling conclusion to our celebrations!
On Friday, the events culminated in a dress-up day across the campus, with students and staff representing either their home country or another country of their choice, with some incredible examples of national dress and creative outfits.
Our parent and staff community also went all-out on Friday to present just a select few of the nationalities which are represented in our student body. The PCA-led activities included a massive range of delicious international delicacies, cultural activities, and informative presentations to students.
The school is proud of its international community and it was wonderful to see such commitment from everyone to this week’s events. With over 40 nationalities represented by our students, we’re proud to showcase some of the world’s best talent. Thank you to everyone who was involved in the preparation of all of the week’s activities!
In the fourth of our series of alumni spotlight articles, we speak with Airi Imamura, an Imperial College London graduate and current 4th year medical student at University College Dublin.
