Future-ready skills built on our 3Cs

The world of work is changing faster than ever. The World Economic Forum’s Future of Jobs Report 2025 shows that nearly 40 percent of today’s skills will be transformed or outdated by 2030. Employers predict rising demand for creativity, resilience, AI and technological literacy (https://www.weforum.org/publications/the-future-of-jobs-report-2025/)

At Nord Anglia International School Shanghai, Pudong, we prepare your child for this future through our vision, “Together we develop creative, confident and considerate learners prepared for their futures.” Known as the 3Cs, these values are part of every stage of school life, from Early Years through to graduation.

Mrs Vaughan, our Principal, says, “The world our students are growing up in requires adaptability and leadership as much as academic knowledge. Our 3Cs provide a framework that equips every child to thrive in tomorrow’s world.”

Creativity as problem-solving

Creative thinking is one of the top skills identified by the World Economic Forum for the jobs of tomorrow. At NAIS Pudong, creativity is not only about the arts, it means developing original solutions, adapting to new industries and approaching challenges with fresh ideas.

Mr Siccardi, Head of Secondary, explains, “When students design sustainable solutions in STEAM projects or debate global issues at Model United Nations, they are practising creativity as problem-solving. This prepares them for careers where they will need to innovate and adapt in industries shaped by AI and new technologies.”

Confidence through resilience and leadership

Confidence is central to thriving in a fast-changing job market. For us, it means resilience, flexibility and the ability to present ideas in a convincing way.

Through project-based learning, leadership opportunities and global collaborations, our students gain the confidence to share their voice and take on new challenges. This reflects the report’s findings that resilience, agility and leadership are among the most sought-after skills for the future

Consideration in an ethical digital world

Being considerate is about more than kindness. In today’s digital world it also means using technology responsibly and making decisions that take others into account.

Mr Siccardi highlights, “Our 3Cs are still very relevant to an AI-driven world. Consideration helps our students think about how technology should be applied responsibly, making them not only skilled professionals but also thoughtful global citizens.”

Starting from the very beginning

Even our youngest learners begin their journey with the 3Cs. In Early Years and Primary, curiosity, teamwork and independence are encouraged through play-based and inquiry-led learning.

Mr Thompson, Head of Primary and Early Years, says, “From the age of two, children at NAIS Pudong learn how to ask questions, collaborate and think independently. These early experiences build the creativity, confidence and consideration that will serve them for life.”
