The school was awash with the colour blue as we celebrated Universal Children's Day – a day recognised globally each year to promote and celebrate children's rights. In support of the UNICEF campaign to ‘Go Blue’ for the day, the children and staff had a lot of fun turning as blue as possible; blue hair, blue face paints, blue clothes, blue sparkles…blue everything! Throughout the day, the children took part in different activities which explored some of the rights from the Convention such as; shelter building to consider the importance of all children having somewhere safe and dry to sleep, and personal flag making to consider identity and belonging. This has been a great day for our students to think about how fortunate they are and consider how they (and the adults around them) can positively contribute to a world where the rights of all children are respected. Blue today but globally minded every day!
