Yes it is that time of year again, Fun Day is upon us! This year we have new and more fairground rides than ever before, more games and activities from the students, a great talent show, live music, loads of great activities for kids and adults alike, and over 20 food vendors providing a huge range of food and a fantastic raffle with prizes worth over 250,000 baht, including a Sony PlayStation 4, 48" TV and loads of great holidays, experiences and gifts.

Full details of everything going on is below and also on the STA Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/events/679419372198013/) and please feel free to share this Facebook event with friends and family as well if you are planning to come.

We look forward to seeing you all there this Saturday!

Entry Tickets
Entry Ticket is just 100 baht (infants free) or 500 baht for kids for unlimited goes on all the rides. You can pay by cash only on the day, but there are likely to be queues, so please just come along to the School Office any time before Saturday and you can make payment to Khun May in the Accounts Office by cash or credit card and receive your wristband in advance that will allow you entry on the day (or alternatively transfer the money to the bank details below, with your name as a reference).

Raffle Tickets
Everyone in the school should have had raffle tickets sent home with their kids already. Cost is 50 baht per ticket or 500 baht per booklet (10 tickets). The main raffle prizes will be drawn at 5pm on Fun Day at the Thai Sala on the main Sports Field, but all other winners will be notified after the event (provided you have put your phone number and email address on the tickets!).

There are some really fantastic prizes this year including some great electronic devices (Sony PlayStation 4, Apple iPad Air, Sony 48" TV, Apple iPod, Kindle Paperwhites) and vouchers for 2 nights luxury stays in a private villa in Bali (courtesy of www.kidfriendlyvillas.com); the Chen Sea Resort and Spa in Vietnam; Koh Munnork Island in Thailand; and Manathai Hotel and Sunwing Resort in Phuket. We also have vouchers for bicycle tours in Bangkok or Chang Mai (courtesy of www.spiceroads.com); Latin dance/Zumba lessons (courtesy of Satori Dance); Cross Fit sessions (courtesy of Pushing Limitz); Trampolining sessions (courtesy of www.bangkok-rockinjump.com) and day passes for a waterpark (courtesy of Cartoon Network Amazone Waterpark in Pattaya), or if you fancy pampering then we have some great spa and massage treatments (courtesy of Su Esthetic Home Spa and Sasi Spa & Beaute). On top of that, we have lots of lunches, dinners and brunches at some of the top hotels in Bangkok and even some great outdoor foldable furniture (courtesy of www.addon2.com).

All the money raised from the raffle and the Entry Tickets will go to the St. Andrews Parent Teacher Group, which supports STA student activities and also helps school charities including Operation Wallacea and the student project to rebuild a school in Tanzania. So please help support by buying as many raffle tickets as you can, and also ask your friends and family if they want to buy some as well. More tickets are available from the Accounts Office. All you have to do is put your name, email address and phone number on the ticket stubs, and return the tickets to the Accounts Office with cash or pay by credit card to Khun May in the Accounts Office before Saturday or pay by bank transfer to:

Rides

All the old favourite rides are back this year, including a Carousel, Bouncy Castle, Foam Pit, Spin Boats, Water Balloons, Archery, Shooting Gallery, Caterpillar, Electric Train and Wave Slide. This year, though, we have some new rides as well, including a second Euro Bungy, Mechanical Bull and King of Mountain Climbing Wall - giving a great selection of rides for kids both young and old. Kids that buy the 500 baht entry ticket are able to have unlimited goes on all of these rides all day. If your kids are going to the Foam Pit, please bring a spare set of clothes or swimming costume and towel as they will get wet.

More Activities

We will also have loads of fun activities on Fun Day for kids including nail painting, henna and face painting, which are all included for free for kids with the 500 baht yellow wristbands, and also a favourite with smaller kids, cookie decorating as well.

Many vendors will be giving some great experiences for free including Scuba Diving by Mermaid Dive (bring your swimming costume and towel), or you can try out a variety of different dances with the professionals from Satori Dance including Salsa, Zumba, Capoeira, Jazz Dance and many more, and there will be kids golf provided by Wilding Golf. If it is all too much then you can always just relax and have a foot massage (located in the PTG Room all day).

There will be a programme of live music throughout the day, and the House Talent Show will be happening in the Drama Studio, so come along and support your friends and enjoy some great tunes. Students will be running a number of small games and stalls at just 20 baht per go to raise funds for conservation in Indonesia through Operation Wallacea, so make sure you pay them a visit. The CAS students will also be running a lot of great games and activities, including favourites like Beat the Goalie etc.

Food & Drink

This year we have more than 20 different food vendors, offering a huge selection of different types of cuisine, with everything from Greek to American to Iranian to Indian to Mexican. There will be old favourites like Pizza, Popcorn, Candy Floss and Ice Cream, and our favourite local vendors will be there serving satay and sticky rice, coconut ice cream and rotis...so there's really something for everyone! This year there will be two food courts, one in the main Canteen area, and a second one next to the Bar and Beer Garden, which will have more space and will be the best place to base yourself while the kids are free to run around. Outside the School Office we will have the Subway van, as well as a number of small local food vendors.

Thanks to the generous sponsorship of Coca-Cola (Thailand) there will several soft drinks stands, as well as the Rose Café serving teas and coffees and cakes that will be run by STA students. Also, we welcome back the Bar, serving a selection of wines and beers and ciders and other drinks. We will have cold draft beer on tap from Singha and this year a great open air Beer Garden (the Beer Garden and Bar area will be ADULTS ONLY).

More Things to Buy and Do

We will have a great selection of more than 30 small local vendors at this year's Fun Day selling everything from Mermaid Tail Swimming Costumes to Jewellery to Handicrafts to Dance Classes to Cross Fit Sessions to Kids Toys, Books and Games to Spa Products and Treatments and much more! There will be a number of charity stands as well, and even a White Elephant (Bric-A-Brac) stand run by the Early Years students, so if you have time between the rides, the Bar, the music and the Talent Show, then it is time to fit in a bit of shopping as well.

Practicalities & How to Get Here

Thanks to Samitivej Hospital, we shall have a professional medical team at Fun Day, including a fully equipped ambulance to deal with any emergencies. There is also a dedicated quiet room with baby changing facilities. PTG members will be on hand as well to answer any questions that you have, and a full programme with maps will be provided to all that come on the day so you know where to go and when.

We encourage all parents and visitors to try and leave their cars at home and use public transport to get to Fun Day, but there will be free parking available on all of Soi 20/1, and also at school car park located off Soi 20 (take the first Soi off Soi 20 on the right and it is at the end) and by the mosque between Soi Pridi 28 and Soi 30. All car parks will be clearly marked as STA car parks, and there will be security as well.

The school will provide free shuttle bus service from BTS Phra Khanong (Taisin Square) to the school campus. The vans will run every 15 minutes or when at full occupancy.

Taisin Square to School (Main Entrance Soi 20/1) - 10am to 4pm

School (Blue Area Soi 20 - EXIT ONLY) to Taisin Square - 11am to 7pm

The entrance to the Fun Day will be from Soi 20/1 ONLY, so please do not try to enter the school from Soi 20.

Sponsors

Fun Day would not happen without the kind support of our sponsors, and in particular we would like to thank Samitivej Hospital for providing an ambulance and medical team for the whole event.
