PE is a popular and well-established subject at St Andrews and we are looking for an experienced and inspiring teacher to join the PE team. PE is taught by specialists from EYFS to Key Stage 4, including both GCSE PE and Sports, Exercise and Health Science, although this opportuntiy is for our Primary campus and experience teaching this age-range would be a significant advantage.
Across the school, class sizes are small and the students are motivated and enthusiastic, enjoying a lively approach to the subject through a wide range of teaching and learning techniques. The ideal candidate will convey enthusiasm for the subject and contribute collaboratively in the continued development of both the Primary curriculum and our busy extra-curricular sports programme.
PE is studied by all students throughout the school and follows schemes of work based on the English National Curriculum, but adapted to reflect both our location and climate in Thailand. August 2017 will be a very exciting time to join St Andrews as we open our new 11-18 Campus, with upgrades to our Primary sports facilities which will greatly enhance teaching and learning in the PE Department.
At St Andrews, we pride ourselves on being an inclusive school, and have an excellent reputation for supporting children with special educational needs. Experience of teaching children with dyslexia, mild autism, ADHD etc. would be very good prior experience for a teacher wishing to join our team. Our Mission Statement commits us to meeting ‘all the needs of the individual learner’, and this applies equally to those students targeting the very highest grades at IGCSE and IB.
As well as their teaching, all PE teachers are expected to contribute positively to both the school’s pastoral systems and the extra-curricular sports programme, taking on coaching roles and leading sports trips. There are widespread extra-curricular opportunities for students from KS1 upwards and we have developed a busy schedule of training and events which take place after school and at weekends. All P.E. staff are actively involved in this.
If you would like to apply for a position at our school please complete the application process through Jobtrain, accessible via the Nord Anglia Education website. If you require any further information, please email firstname.lastname@example.org">email@example.com. The closing date for applications is Friday 2nd December 2016.
