The Term Ahead

We’re expecting another busy term of sporting events to keep us all active, and in Term 2, we’ll see everyone across KS2 and 3 involved in competitive sport. Some of the events are as follows:

17 January: TISAC Primary Athletics

18-23 January: FOBISIA Swimming, Brunei

4-5 February: Senior Invitational Games @ Pattaya

7 February: Y7 & 8 High School House Athletics (all involved)

9 February: Y9 & 10 High School House Athletics (all involved)

4-5 March: Marlin Mayhem Meet

17-21 March: U13 FOBISIA Games @ STA

In addition, we have the KS3 House Aquathon, which takes place during Fitness lessons; the Y3 & 4 and Y5 & 6 Fun Sports Days; various TISAC Football tournaments and TISAC Football League matches. Confirmed dates for these will be advertised nearer the time.

The House events coming up are a chance for everyone to be included in some sport with moderate levels of competition. The Fun Sports days are team events with everyone contributing equally. The Aquathon is a challenging run/swim, but athletes may do this at the pace that they feel comfortable with. Non-competitors may assist with marshalling, scoring or time-keeping, so that they may still be involved in the event.

In addition to the above, we’ll have some friendly games against other schools in Football and Basketball for our ‘B’ squad members so that they may have a taste of representational sport.

In this way, we hope to give the opportunity to participate in extra-curricular sport to as many of our students as we can manage.

U13 v U15 Basketball

On Wednesday this week, we have arranged a friendly game for our U13 & U15 ‘B’ basketball teams to play each other. The game will take place at Soccer Pro, where the footballers train. We wish to try the courts there as we may use them for the FOBISIA Games in March.

An email will follow for those involved. U13 training will take place as normal for those not playing.

STA Swim Champ 2016

Last year was another great year for the annual STA Swim Championship 2016. All Marlin swimmers did a fantastic job and we are very proud of their achievements.

There was a special event this year: the Parents & Children Vs STA coaches relay. This was a fantastic event and it was great to see our STA community bond together, with big smiles and lots of cheering throughout the day.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the PTG, parents and STA teachers for your huge support - this accomplishment would not be possible without you.

Please save the date for the annual Marlin Mayhem Swim Meet on 4th-5th March 2017.
