Sport: STA athletes hitting their stride

This past week saw our Primary School and High School athletes put in very strong performances across all Term 1 sport.

Primary School Sport

We are into the last week of half term but we continue with our busy sports schedule. Our U11 football teams had a great visit to Shrewsbury with so many children having the opportunity to play competitive games and representing STA.

As well as our U11 Girls basketball TISAC game, we also have further BISAC fixtures this week hosting both NIST and Shrewsbury for Basketball on Tuesday and Wednesday.

This week during lessons some of our children have been enjoying their first taste of athletics and we are looking forward to some of them joining our Athletics squad to go and compete against the other Primary BISAC schools in November.

Cross Country

After a mistake with the times at the Shrewsbury Cross Country 2 weeks ago, our U11 Girls Cross Country Team finally received their BISAC 1st place trophy and medals. We have such a strong group of girl athletes competing and beating the best in Bangkok across all the sports.

On Monday 16th October, our U11 Boys and Girls teams went to Shrewsbury for a friendly fixture. Once again our football squads continue to reach new heights of performance and it was great to see all our squad members representing STA.

Our 4 U11 boys teams won all their games and our U11 girls team also won 2-0.

This concludes our friendly football fixture with Shrewsbury in which over 80 children had the chance to represent STA.  Thank you to the brilliant parents support as always.

STA Community Sports Day

On Saturday, 18th November, we’ll have our second Community Sports Day, open to all of our parents, staff and alumni. We are starting to prepare for this now with our PTG, who will provide food for the event.

The day will be held at High School, with volleyball, football and badminton on offer, as well a free swim and table tennis for the kids.

Miss Aanchal sent out an email last week. We’ve had many sign up, with several football and volleyball teams and lots of badminton players. If you’d like to be involved in the fun, please complete the survey contained in the email from Miss Aanchal or get in touch with her.

We continue our busy schedule this week with another six games, including TISAC League games and a BISAC friendly.

Flames Basketball Academy & Saturday Club

Please note that with the long weekend and half term, we won’t have any more sessions this October. Our next session will be 4 November.
