STA Community Sports Day
On Saturday, 18th November, we’ll have our second Community Sports Day, open to all of our parents, staff and alumni. We are starting to prepare for this now with our PTG, who will provide food for the event.
The day will be held at High School, with volleyball, football and badminton on offer, as well a free swim and table tennis for the kids.
Soon we will ask you to sign up - please look out for an email in the next week or so.
Basketball
We had some more good games last week, the highlight of which has to be Thursdays trip to Traill with the U15s. Our girls were beaten last time by a strong team, but showed unbelievable spirit and grit. We had a clear game plan in defense that worked well and had the game tied up midway through. We were just 4 down when a major injury to one of our key players effectively ended the game, but I’ve rarely been more proud of a team performance than I was of this one.
The boys then played their game and in a high quality encounter, forced the game into overtime with two free throws at the death. They showed great discipline and composure to finish winners by 2 points.
Our season continues with TISAC League games and friendlies against BISAC schools.
On Wednesday, we’re pleased to send our Senior Girls to ASB - a school with a strong girls team - to take part in a 3-way tournament with a touring school from Singapore. News next week.
Flames basketball Academy & Saturday Club
Please note that with the long weekend and half term, we won’t have any more sessions this October. Our next session will be 4 November.
