Year 8 Art Trip to the Bangkok Sculpture center
Just before the half term break year 8 art students, from the first carousel group, visited the Bangkok Sculpture Center. The gallery is an inspiring place to visit, housing an extensive collection of Thai sculpture from the ancient Buddhist era to the work of contemporary artists like Manop Suwanpinta.
Our students were treated to a guided tour of the collection, before embarking on their own research. Their drawings and information gathering will be used in a future project, in which they will create their own three dimensional artwork.
We are really looking forward to taking the second carousel group to visit the center on May 19th.
