A big thank you must go to everyone who contributed to making last week’s Book Week such a special occasion. Never has there been so much going on. With activities during the school day and competitions to enter with the help of mums and dads, the children had some wonderful chances to try new things. Our author Tanya Landman went down very well and she really enjoyed spending time with the different yeargroups.
Of course the Book Week Parade was one of the highlights of the week, though choosing winners from the amazing array of costumes was an almost impossible task.
The Book Week Bake Off was particularly popular with KS2 students but we had a some delicious entries from KS1. Well done Nico in Y2D who came away with the top prize for his amazing Mr Twit cake!
We also had our favourite Snuggle Up and Read sessions with the older children visiting the younger ones for a “Bedtime Story”.
Early Years visit Molly Fantasy
The previous week Early Years went on fabulous trips to Molly Fantasy. The children could be seen learning new vocabulary, developing their counting skills and facing a few physical challenges too. Looks like everyone had a great time!
An Update from the Mercy Centre
The Mercy Centre recently published an article on their facebook page entitled ‘The Housing Miracle’ thanking everyone for their contributions during this recent difficult time. The fire that ravaged the community created enormous devastation with many families losing their homes. But thanks to the generosity of the local Klong Toei community, including the ‘White Elephant’ and PTG money raised by STA 71, the situation is now looking more hopeful. The new houses being built are “simple steel frames, so much stronger than the old ones” and they will be completed before next month. We have included some pictures so you can see firsthand the progress we helped to achieve.
