Beginning of Term 3

This past Saturday, members of St. Andrews MUN (Model United Nations), an extracurricular activity for students in Years 7-13, made the two hour bus journey to Regents International School, Pattaya to attend Regents MUN 2017. This was the largest MUN in Regents Pattaya’s history, with over 80 delegates attending from Garden International School, Regents International School, Bangkok, Regents International School, Pattaya and of course St.Andrews International School, Bangkok. Delegates had the opportunity to engage in global issues ranging from security to the environment, human rights and economics, making new friends as they debated solutions for these issues.

Well done to Akshat (Y8), Angel (Y10), Destiny (Y10), Emily (Y8), Johna (Y12), Mahima (Y8), Oonita (Y12), Pablo (Y9), Safal (Y8), Sasha (Y10) for being outstanding delegates and fully engaging themselves, especially to those attending their first conference and well done to Sean (Y12) for stepping up to become a chair. None of this would be possible without our lovely advisor, Ms.Tamara, a big thank you for arranging this trip and keeping us all safe during it.

Congratulations to those delegates who received the following awards from their committees:

Funniest Delegate to Pablo (Y9)

Most Supportive Delegate to Mahima (Y8), Destiny (Y10) and Oonita (Y12)

Most Improved Delegate to Destiny (Y10) and Oonita (Y12)

Best Delegate to Safal (Y8)

Most Likely to Become Future President to Safal (Y8).

For any other students interested in Model United Nations, the weekly ECA is on Wednesday at 12:45 p.m. and will be open again to new members at the start of Term 3. For further inquiries, ask Ms.Tamara in M29 or any of the aforementioned delegates.
